External Examiner Nigel Geach & Programme Leader Genevieve Gordon-Thomson
The Business School is delighted to share that experienced leading industry expert Nigel Geach has joined as External Examiner. Programme Leader Genevieve Gordon-Thomson comments on his appointment.
”I’m delighted to have Nigel Geach join the Business of Motorsport team as External Examiner. His outstanding contribution to the industry of sports marketing and motorsport marketing and PR is well known within the industry. His knowledge in the motorsport sector is second to none and we as a team know how valuable this knowledge will be for students gaining a meaningful qualification. Nigel brings us a level of trust from the industry that students of the course have gained a quality education.’’
Nigel has an extensive history in Motorsport which dates to the 1980’s. He teamed up with a couple of colleagues to start a business to help Sponsors and Rights Holders evaluate their involvement in sport to provide them with an ROI.
My interest (of motorsport) in the early years became more of a passion and travelling to see clients and teams at races and events shaped my thinking that motorsport, and indeed any sport, was an excellent way for companies to market their products and engage with the customers.’
Over the next twenty or so years, Nigel helped grow the business internationally. During this time, he worked with huge race series including Formula One, IndyCar, WRC, WEC, Nascar, MotoGP, and many other national championships. Since selling the company in 2012, Nigel has continued working in motorsport, mostly working as a Global Motorsport Consultant.
Nigel now wants to leverage his decades worth of experience to help the next generation.
I decided that passing on my experiences to the new generation would be a fun, enjoyable, and rewarding opportunity. The MA Business of Motorsport, run by the NMA gives me that opportunity and I am delighted to be part of it and to help shape its future.
