Starting a race team isn’t as hard as you’d think – once you have the right skills. Ever since he started his BSc Motorsport Engineering, that’s been the end game for British Army Major, Rikki Abel.
When Rikki completed his degree in 2020, Rikki knew he needed a way of using his new skills which would fit around his full time job. He’s already spent some time working on Nicholas Hamilton’s car with Team Hard but now he wanted to create his own race-winning set up. He set his sights on the 750 Motorclub – one of the UK’s most affordable and competitive club racing series. We sent NMA Deputy Director Wayne and tutor Ed down to Snetterton to see Rikki’s race set up with his team Kiaana Motorsport.
