Want a Job in Motorsport? Meet NMA Student & Race Fuels Executive, Macrae Williams

Getting a job in motorsport requires skill, determination and a shed load of hard work. Here at the National Motorsport Academy we know what it takes to get on the first rung of the ladder and we support all of our students and graduates when it comes to finding that first all important job.

Quite often we are asked whether our courses really help when it comes to applying for a job in motorsport and whether our students successfully find work at the end of their course. That’s why we’ve decided to share some students stories:

Macrae Williams

Early in 2018, Macrae Williams decided to take the leap from a job as a main dealer Service Technician into the world of Motorsport. Having spent 8 years working with Jaguar, Lexus and Mazda, Macrae finally followed his dream of a job in motorsport and signed up for the NMA’s Motorsport Engineering FdSc. We caught up with Macrae, who now divides his time between his new role with race fuels specialist Anglo American Oil Company and studying for his degree with the NMA.

Watch to find out how the NMA’s practical course content has helped Macrae find his feet and a future career:

This year, Macrae was part of the prize giving ceremony at the GT Cup Awards evening. Here he is presenting our very own Gaz Downing with his ‘Fastest Driver’ trophy.

See, jobs in motorsport aren’t that hard to come by. All you need are the right skills, the best network and the confidence to go out there and get one!
