Hot Commercial Motorsport Internships to Apply for Now

At this time each year all the main teams and manufacturers start their hunt for the motorsport stars of the future. Internships in both commercial motorsport and motorsport engineering are common place and they are one of the best ways for motorsport undergraduates to hone their skills in the workplace. 

We’ve scoured the internet for the best work placements in the business of motorsport for 2022. Some of the deadlines for applications are approaching so get your CV ready!

Porsche Commercial Motorsport Internships

Porsche are one of the biggest providers of commercial motorsport internships in the world.

They currently have placement years available in Finance, Human Resources, Public Relations, Marketing, Events Management, Training and Development, Business Operations, Business Improvements and Motorsport Events.

They have a dedicated internships page on LinkedIn with all of the opportunities available as well as stories and case studies from current interns. Internships start in August 2022. You can view the current UK roles here.

Their job locator will show other internships around the world and there are commercial motorsport placements in Dubai, United States, Germany, Singapore – pretty much everywhere!

Mercedes-AMG Placement Scheme

Whether you’re a motorsport fan working in another industry or a current commercial undergraduate looking for a placement in a fast-moving, exciting industry, you can’t get much better than a commercial motorsport work placement with racing giants Mercedes-AMG.

With roles available in HR, supply chain, purchasing and engineering, their world-leading internship programme trains some of the best professionals in the motorsport business. Here are a few of the opportunities available for commercial motorsport interns, starting in 2022.

  • IT 12 Month Placement
  • Health. Safety and Environmental Placement
  • HR Placement
  • IMS Student Placement (HR)
Mercedes-AMG placements last for 12 months and pay circa £20,000 per year. You don’t need to be a current undergraduate on a gap year, they also accept graduates who have a relevant business degree with a 2:1 or above. Needless to say, a love of motorsport is a huge benefit! Applications for the 2022 commercial motorsport placements close 31st December 2021.

Williams Motorsport Internships

Williams are another top team who offer industrial placements to help train the commercial motorsport professionals of the future. This time they have a Procurement Placement on offer for an eager candidate. The application in pretty straight forward. You just need to send your CV and a covering letter of no more than 500 words detailing the following:

  • Your current career aims and how you plan to achieve them.
  • Relevant leisure pursuits and activities.
  • Why work experience with the Company would be beneficial to you.

Ferrari Internships

Ferrari are another global motorsport giant investing in the future of their business by taking on the most talented graduates. They are looking for graduates in Economics, Business and Engineering to fill commercial motorsport placements in Maranello (Italy) and Paris in their Marketing and Sales team. 

You must be a recent graduate (last 12 months) and be hugely motivated, hard-working and creative. The closing date is 1st November but they do have an open submission for keen candidates. 

Your academic background will come from these key disciplines: International Business Strategy, Luxury Management, Digital Marketing & Consumer Behavior, Business Analytics, Project Management and
Management Engineering.”
