Ben Auty is a prime example of what happens when determination and opportunity finally meet. After switching careers to pursue his long-held ambition of working in motorsport, he committed fully to the BSc (Hons) Motorsport Engineering course and never looked back. Graduating in early 2025, he has gone on to enjoy a remarkable year, earning both Race Engineer of the Year and Student of the Year while delivering standout results with his team. His journey shows what’s possible when you choose the path you truly want.

From coursework to the paddock, Lucy Laycock has built her motorsport career step by step—now working with FAT Karting League and Speedworks as she finishes her NMA journey.
